15 volumes of 300 pages for the El País and TVI Groups

From Spanish to Portuguese: philosophy, science and geography
Eurologos-Lisbon is collaborating in a on-going project with Constância – Santillana, a major Portuguese and Spanish publishing house (from the same group of companies as El País, in Spain, and TVI, one of the TV channels, in Portugal), translating a whole student encyclopedia, of 15 volumes, from Spanish to Portuguese.

This encyclopedia covers most aspects of human knowledge, from philosophy to science and geography. Each volume has around 300 pages of highly specialized text, with a very specific target readership.




The linguistic quality of Eurologos
With tight schedules and a great amount of text to adapt to Portuguese, this is a challenging job, that proves once again the ability of our Group to adapt to any kind of text, in any situation, with impeccable quality.

We also provide DTP services for the project, preparing DTP files for final checking.

This encyclopedia will be distributed in a national newspaper in Portugal, raising awareness of the quality Eurologos always prides on.

Even a Nobel literature prize
Elfriede Jelinek, Nobel literature prize 2004, has published his latest novel “Neid”, on the internet. For free. Many authors do the same. Especially if one thinks of “corporate literature” (ones which have as object to describe companies from within, personnel relations & productive business relations). Is the “prophecy” of Roland Barthes about to happen? Irreversible trend towards the “extinction of the literary author”?
Difficult to confirm clearly.

From “Galassia Gutenberg” to inverted copyright
Even the best known futurologist, Marshall Mc Luhan, should he still be alive, could not have predicted the current revolution in terms of editing and publishing happening at the present time thanks to the Internet. Especially for business companies. Many modern companies publish historical novels, or short “productive” stories of their cultural contexts to complete the classic but insufficient means of communication (brochures, leaflets, catalogues, cd’s web sites, annual reports) at their disposal.
The cultural anthropology of modern, post industrial

businesses has become so complex that the traditional publicity mediums reveal themselves lacking of adaptability/efficiency to position into the marketplace, the company’s brand image.

It is for this very reason that Eurologos has published several professional “literary” books such as “Glocal” in six languages and “Glocalia” in fourteen languages.

Glocalia: the story of the sequel to Babel richly illustrated

For the four continents
Matteo Fiorini and Dario Bertolesi, responsible for Eurologos-Milan, have written a short story inspired by the biblical story of the tower of Babel to celebrate with a beautiful booklet, the 30th anniversary of the foundation in Brussels, of Eurologos.

To enable a legible and universal reading they had it translated in 13 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Greek, Japanese, Arab, Hebrew and Chinese). The Chinese translation has been done in our brand new Shanghai office which has been launched by Eurologos-Milan.

Fairy tale language by two fathers for their four daughters

After rewriting in a fairy tale style the well known story of the destruction of the tower of Babel to ensure that their children (four daughters!) understood and read well the story, they also entrusted the colorful and brilliantly executed illustrations to Viviana Spreafico, a graphic designer

 

which has long collaborated with the Eurologos-Milan office.The pictures in a naive style make this booklet precious while allowing the strange narrative a touch of surrealistic poetry…
