This year, which marks the 30th anniversary of Eurologos, we are paying special tribute to our patron saint

|
St. Jerome, a Doctor of the Catholic Church and the patron saint of translation thanks to his translation of the Bible – the Vulgate, from Hebrew and Greek into Latin – executed almost 1,500 (!) years ago, is celebrated by all translators across the globe every year on September 30th.
Our patron saint was also what we would now call a distinguished translatologist, as |
is apparent from his innumerable writings regarding how to translate well, favoring faithful reproduction and stylistic beauty. On this the 30th anniversary of the creation of Eurologos, all our offices, located throughout the world, are celebrating St. Jerome with particular conviction, by reminding themselves of his traductological principles that are doubtlessly everlasting. |
