Eurologos leaves its mark on the Frankfurt Book Fair

One German and one Belgian client at the same event:
the “Frankfurt Buchmesse”

The extremely high literary standards of Eurologos translators

The largest annual book fair in the world (with 7,200 exhibitors, 380,000 books, an exhibition space equalling the size of 27 football pitches and 285,000 visitors), the Frankfurt Book Fair, where editors from all over the world meet every year, brought together two different Eurologos clients, from our Cologne and Brussels offices, for which we translated, for this event, several documents and cultural files in more than five languages.
Translating books on art, biography and history for the companies, in addition to promotional documentation in the cultural field, was no mean feat for our offices, which, thanks to the high literary standards of our translators and revisers, proved themselves more than capable of producing “cultural” texts.

Corbis design and photography books
Eurologos–Cologne translated descriptive sheets for Corbis (creative editing) into six language combinations, for a presentation catalogue and even a graphics journal. The thoroughness and terminological precision of the language are always applied, especially when dealing with synthetic texts from photography publications (http://pro.corbis.com).

The promotional presentation of Belgian French-language books
Eurologos–Brussels also translated, for its client CGRI (www.wbri.be), the “Frankfurt Book Fair” brochure containing presentations of more than 20 works written in French. As the Frankfurt Buchmesse is the most significant occasion for selling the rights of authors of books of all languages, the precision and phraseological relevance of the promotional texts had to be perfect.

Eurologos-Lisbon and Shell form a well-oiled partnership

Brochures, press releases and marketing campaign for Shell Lubricants

Determining the language used
The “Local communication strategy for the new Helix formula” could have been the name given to the campaign on which our Portuguese

office worked, in very close partnership with Shell, for the launch of this lubricant’s new formula. Deciding upon phraseology and technical terminology proved a difficult challenge. The texts themselves were then written up without many problems: it is always the case that after the glossary and expressions unique to the company’s technolect. have been defined, the localization of translations becomes – for Eurologos – a simple linguistic puzzle. In this case, the Shell technolects comprised product

technical language and an essentially marketing-oriented communications glossary for one of the oil industry’s prestigious “Seven Sisters”
