Eurologos-Madrid: an example of a client acquired at a technical fair stand

German solar energy company Schüco
ready to put themselves in the spotlight in Spain

At the energy and air-conditioning fair

Our Madrid office exhibited in February at the GENERA fair in the Spanish capital’s exhibition hall. This is where the meeting took place: the German Schüco, known as the top business for the production of PVC profiles with also a solar energy division, was looking for a Spanish partner to allow it to prepare, in Castilian and in other languages, their technical documentation.
Eurologos-Madrid's reputation for industrial and notably technical translation immediately produced a spark. As Schüco was already using translation memories, dialogue developed right away with a translator-terminologist present on the stand… The election of Eurologos-Madrid was thus quite natural. Our Madrid office's experience in the sectors of wind energy, gas turbines, hydrogen batteries and biomass goes back several years and boasts the best references. Its five-people presence at the Air-conditioning and Energy fair (with over 30,000 professional visitors) was no coincidence: the office is headed by two engineers!

A dialogical conference

Eurologos-Milan Conference for the Master’s in Specialized Translation
(Vicenza School for Interpreters and Translators)

Eurologos positioning and content communicated for several hours

Eurologos offices, irrespective of their location, constantly pursue the objective of reducing the distance between the world of academic teaching (universities) and that of the market (companies).

That is the case for Eurologos Milan, which on 5 February 2005 held a conference in Vicenza targeted at “Master’s in specialized translation” students. It was only scheduled to take 45 minutes but ended up continuing for over three hours: when it is a question of communicating concepts of modern traductological culture and direct experience of the international markets, time flies and questions are never-ending. Dario Bertolesi, Eurologos Milan Client Leader – despite his full legal training – kept his audience in a state of suspense and incited them to embark on a lengthy

dialogical exchange (he would also have made an excellent lawyer).
All he needed to do was recount the experience of his day-to-day work (international and avant-garde) to an audience of trainee translators thirsty for concrete knowledge. The dialogue was greatly appreciated by lecturers and students alike.

  Abstract for the Vicenza conference

The translation market: practical applications, the reality of the Eurologos Group

  • The 31 Eurologos offices worldwide: “Translating and publishing where the languages are spoken”.
  • The concept of “glocalization” (globalization and localization at the same time): all production should be delocalized except for that of languages.
  • Only on site is it possible to produce a language with its specific geo-style: as many offices as languages promised to clients.
  • Eurologos Milan and the 6,000 clients of the Eurologos Group.
  • The whole range of linguistic services: from translation to software localization via website localization and interpretation.
  • The reality of our contributors: mother-tongue, the linguistic double check and translation aids for the terminology of business technolects.
You can find the text of the conference, in Italian and in English, on our website: www.eurologos.com

Dario Bertolesi, the very incarnation of “Client Leader”

The man behind this conference has been working at the Eurologos Milan office for nearly nine years and has been a leading protagonist in the success of the agency on the Italian market. Dario is very fond of the job title on his business card: “Client Leader”. Indeed, he loves to identify himself with client interests and to be their representative within Eurologos.

“Who is going to defend their interests throughout the production phase and beyond?” as he likes to repeat to his colleagues when speaking of the group’s clients. The truth be known, he sees to this even before orders are placed: above all in the perfect organization of offers and their price, which must justifiably satisfy all our clients.
