The substandard performance of a unilingual site
Edison is a Belgian communication company that wanted to have a website in at least three languages: Dutch, French and English, the languages most used in day-to-day commercial activities in Belgium.

Furthermore, every website must address its users in their own language. The language must always be that of the future client. And, for an advertising agency that bases its activity on this principle, a unilingual site constitutes a crippling handicap of substandard performance.

At least four quality controls

The Rayovac Corporation is an international manufacturer of products for consumption, present in over 100 countries and with a diversified portfolio of brands having achieved leadership status in their respective categories. The major brands, Rayovac, Varta and Remington, make

the Rayovac Group – with its positioning on the various markets – one of the major producers at world level in the sectors of "Portable Energy" and "Body Care". Eurologos-Milan deals with the translations of Varta Batterie S.p.A. and, more specifically, recently performed the translation and adaptation, from French into Italian, of a "Varta France catalogue, regarding disposable and rechargeable batteries and electric flashlights". After translation of the texts drafted in French, a second Italian "twin"

translator revised the text as usual and then sent it to the terminographer for final control of linguistic accuracy of the terms used. Before carrying out the layout and validation preceding the "ready for print", the texts were inserted into our translation memories (on this occasion we used Trados) in order to enrich the terminologies and phraseologies of Varta's corporate technolect. The final layout was validated by the client, allowing for a last check before printing: a classic example of the procedure enabling the achievement of a quality product.
